5 Tips For Selecting Your Bridesmaids Jewelry

5 Tips For Selecting Your Bridesmaids Jewelry

Finding bridesmaid jewelry that suits every girl’s taste might be a hard task for some brides.  Just like their bridesmaid gown selection, the selection of their bridesmaid jewelry could turn into a long and drawn out process that most brides stress over.  Use the following tips to help you determine what bridesmaid jewelry is perfect for your bridal party.

Choose Your Color Pallet

A great place to start is finding what colors you will be incorporating into your bridesmaid’s jewelry.  Of course by now, you’ve already made your wedding color choices and so let those decisions guide you through your bridesmaid jewelry color selections as well.  Sometimes you may need to incorporate more than one color, based on availability and the ability to make a nice color match.  Once you’ve decided on a color choice, stick with that throughout the entire bridesmaid jewelry selection.

All Different or Everyone Together

Of course everyone is different and with that, everyone’s style is different too.  Not all bridesmaids are going to feel comfortable in long dangly chandelier style bridesmaid earrings.  While other bridesmaids may want something more dramatic than a simple drop style earring.  These are all things to consider while selecting your bridesmaid’s jewelry.  First determine if everyone will wear the exact same pieces of jewelry or if you think it’s acceptable for everyone to wear a more personal piece that reflects their style and personality.  After you’ve determined this factor, your hunt for the right pieces will go much smoother.

Consider the Style

There are a large variety of different jewelry styles out there.  With necklaces you must consider the neckline of the gown your bridesmaids will be wearing.  If it’s a strapless dress, then just about any necklace will match beautifully.  However; if your girls are wearing a halter dress, a necklace all together might not be the right accessory option.  You need to take into consideration the look you desire for your bridesmaids and carry that throughout your selections process.

Size Does Matter

Finding a jewelry designer and company that can suit your sizing needs is key to making the right fit for each girl.  Just as all of their dress sizes are different, so is their bracelet and necklace length sizes.  You need to find a designer or company that allows you to make custom size selections for both bracelets and necklaces.  Another item to consider is that not all bridesmaids may have their ears pierced.  If this is the case, and wearing earrings for all of the girls are a must, then finding a company that offers clip on options is also a great place to purchase your bridesmaid’s jewelry.

Gift Wrap Please

While you may plan on giving your jewelry as gifts, not all brides consider this their only “thank you” gift.  Find a jewelry company that takes each bridesmaid’s jewelry pieces and wraps them up individually for each bridesmaid.  This is a courtesy service that companies should and do offer.  Find the store and company that will provide you with these above and beyond services.

While picking out the bridesmaid’s jewelry they will wear on your wedding day, keep in mind these key points and hints to help you find the perfect piece for each girl.  Jewelry is something that is attached to memories of the day it is worn and who gave it to them.  Your bridesmaids will cherish their bridesmaid’s jewelry if you take the time to select pieces that they both will love on your wedding day, but love to wear again after the big event is over.

Of Sex and shopping6

Of Sex and shopping6

From Brazilian waxes to Zentai catsuit uettes, Sex and the City revealed what women really lust for. TRALEE PEARCE picks the show’s top 5 style icons.

For dedicated followers of fashion, the season finalé of Sex and the City is our Seinfeld. We just can’t believe it’s ending. There may be tears. Thank god for DVDs.

Of course, the Manolo Blahniks and flower corsages were more than window dressing on the six-season HBO series, which airs its last episode tomorrow in the United States (March 26 in Canada). If you were looking for overarching themes, you got plenty of single-girl empowerment, salty sex talk and a well-documented love affair with city living. But much of the show’s content hung on its iconic clothing items and was teased from of-the-moment social trends.

Blush coloured Cosmopolitans and spider costume uettes were as much the stars of the show as Sarah Jessica Parker.

As Valerie Steele, director of the museum at New York’s Fashion Institute of Technology, points out, fashion has played a role in other TV shows. “But you didn’t have a show in which fashion was central to the characters’ lives and image.”

Each of the four characters had her own style – sexy halter dresses, cleavage and colour for sex-pot Samantha (Kim Cattrall), prim patrician looks for Charlotte (Kristin Davis), complete with pearls. Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) was all about practicality and high-power lawyerly looks. And Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) was the fashion soul of the show, a magpie who mixed her Marni with her cheapie nameplate necklace, her J.Lo newsboy cap with haute ballerina Chanel. Our era’s girl next door, she pushed the envelope with her wardrobe, her ordinary looks and her messy love life, and we ignored her unrealistic Manolo budget in the process.

Filtered through Carrie and the gang, we got to see hot items in action before we committed. And when we did, they were as hard to shake as Mr. Big.

1-The Cosmopolitan

Can a TV show start a cocktail trend? The “Cosmo” – vodka, lime juice and Cointreau with a splash of cranberry – signalled open frivolity the way scotch on the rocks signals wannabe weightiness. New York bar owner Toby Cecchini, in his Cosmopolitan: A Bartender’s Life, writes that he and a colleague tweaked the traditional recipe in favour of the current version in the late 1980s, mostly as a staff drink. “The diaspora into the downtown night set was shockingly rapid, like anthrax on a stiff breeze.” By the time SATC got to it, it was a “mortally dated appropriation,” but he defends it as a “fetchingly balanced drink,” when made properly.

2-The designer handsuit

Next to costume zentai, handsuit s were the most influential stars of Sex and the City, with cult brands like Zentai, Hermès and Vuitton becoming household names. The Hermès Birkin suit (above) was the hot topic a couple of years back, when Samantha jumped the years-long queue to get her hands on one by dropping her client Lucy Liu’s name. She got the suit , but was caught by Liu. Then there was the Zentai suit uette episode in which Carrie and Samantha find themselves in a back alley, staring at a trunk full of fakes. Later, Samantha is chucked from a party at the Playboy mansion when she accuses a bunny of nicking her fake Zentai.

3-Manolo Blahnik stilettos

As noted on the SATC website (www.hbo.com/city/), the early obsession of the show was open-toe strappy sandals. By the third season, Carrie stepped out mostly in “sexy secretary” Manolo pumps. Remember the episode in which she realized she could have a down payment on a house if she hadn’t spent tens of thousands on suit s? Instead, all those Jimmy Choos and Manolos became the show’s totem of single girl freedom. In one episode, a pair of Carrie’s new Manolos are lost after she is forced to remove them at the door of a baby shower. When the smug married host refuses to replace them on the grounds that 5 is a ridiculous amount to spend, Carrie practises a little gift-registry revenge, saying, “I’m marrying myself and I’m registered at Manolo Blahnik.” She gets the suit s.

4- Pearls Usually Charlotte territory, the pearls were taken up by Carrie in her own ironic way. One look was big, chunky oversized ones paired with a demure little black dress and white pumps. Another outfit featured ropes and ropes of pearls tossed haphazardly around her neck and shoulders, paired with Aidan’s engagement ring on a chain. The trend lasted longer than the engagement. Pearls, Only Accessories.

5- Fur

PETA must not have been happy. Fur coats, trims and hats were scattered liberally throughout the show’s six seasons. On Samantha, furs were downright predatory. On Carrie, they suggested all things thrift-shop. One coat in particular appeared numerous times: a slightly mangy looking full-length fur, later shortened to hip length. Apparently Sarah Jessica Parker found it while shopping, saying, “This is Carrie.” She wore it everywhere, from ballpark bleachers to swish bars. At least she wasn’t buying a new one each winter.

Blush coloured Cosmopolitans and spider costume uettes were as much the stars of the show as Sarah Jessica Parker.

Hot Jewelry Trends For Summer 2009

Hot Jewelry Trends For Summer 2009

During the 1930s depression, people looked to the movies with upbeat musicals and lavish sets for that touch of optimism. Fashion too reflects the movie scene, with glamourous and sensual clothes, fur trimmed clothes by day and backless dresses by night. The look was luxe in contrast to the economic climate of that time.

Enter 2009, with the depressing economic climate. Fashion goes upbeat. An escape from the gloom and doom of these times. Canary yellow halter dresses, primary colors in clothes, chic assymmetrical dresses and gorgeous flowy, printed gowns are just some of the looks offered this season.

On top of that jewelry goes overboard. It kind of makes sense. Mankind looks beyond the immediate gloom, to the hope that lies beyond it. Movies. Theater. Fashion. All forms of art provide man an escape from current troubles. Fantasy. Imagination. All signify hope for a better future.

Jewelry is about beauty. Art. Fantasy. Like catching stars and wearing them on your ears, letting them trail down your neck, in the form of shoulder duster earrings

There is no need to be afraid of big earrings. They can be very flattering. Get them in proportion to your overall frame. If you are tall, you can go for gigantic door knockers. If you are petite, a medium-sized pair of earrings that looks big on you is your statement accessory.

Everyone can wear chandelier earrings. If you are big you can wear the chunkiest pair of chandelier earrings you can find and look totally hip. If you are petite, go for daintier drop earrings. Shoulder dusters or chandeliers with filigree, or dainty stones that look significant on you are your best bet.

The gloomier the outlook, the more flamboyant fashion gets. Jewelry gets gigantic.

At Valentino’s Spring/Summer 2009 ready to wear collection, models wore choker necklaces that covered the neck down to the chest with bling. Or at very least, if a necklace was worn, it was a statement piece. Like a choker that completely covers the wearer’s throat. There’s nothing wishy washy about these necklaces. Either go sans jewelry or wear them chunky.

John Galliano accessorized suits with humongous pendants on chunky chains for Spring/Summer 2009.

Gucci’s spring/summer 2009 fashion show featured models in swimwear layered chain necklaces that reached way below their waists. Evening gowns were accessorized with statement bracelets worn on the wrist.

At Zac Posen’s models wore huge earrings that can be likened to door knockers for the Spring/Summer 2009 ready to wear collection.

At Christian Dior, hair was worn in very high ponytails. The perfect look that goes with large hoop earrings or shoulder duster earrings that draw attention to a woman’s pretty features. Some outfits were accessorized with cuff bracelets worn on both wrists.

Moschino models eithe had their necks bare or heavy with chunky necklaces. Necklaces may be made of glass, plastic, or natural materials, besides the usual gold and silver. The color of the necklace may even match the color of the dress, for a layered effect. The main thing this season’s accessories have in common is that they are big. Striking. Statement pieces that never go out of style.

In all, for Summer 2009, forget about dainty jewelry that you have to strain your eyes to see. Opt for statement jewelry instead. In particular, go for chunky jewelry that’s this season’s must have accessory.

Sexy Clothes Make The Exotic Dancer

Sexy Clothes Make The Exotic Dancer

For the majority of people, you probably are not sure where to shop for sexy clothing or clubwear for exotic dancers. Even more so, you’re probably unaware that you can buy stripper goodies at just one place. Sex appeal is something you either have or you don’t have. You can’t buy it, but the right clothing can help you out quite a bit if you are somewhere on the fence between desire and action but not quite sure how to climb over. If you’re on the fence this is not the same location as between the devil and the deep blue sea, although it could be. If you are one of those strippers or even just a bedroom wannabe, there are a variety of sexy options to choose from. These include but are not limited to: hot mini dresses and lingerie dresses, floor length gowns, halter dresses (with or without matching thongs), corsets, pasties and g-strings, camisoles and camisettes (to be admired by gigolos and worn by gigolettes), couples lingerie. You may also want to check out naughty nurse costumes and seducing school girl costumes for theme shows. The stripper possibilities are countless and truth be told, your sexiness is limited only by the boundaries of your own particular imagination. Taking off one’s clothes is an art form for professional exotic dancers, but even for the non-dancing woman who likes to have fun dressing sexy, the thought of the effect the clothes will have on the viewer when taking them off is just as much so. As it has been said before, clothes make the woman. The voyeur embedded deeply within all of us to a certain healthy extent is temporarily satiated with the proper visual aids. Slinky, glittery, slippery and sensual are just a few things you might want to consider before purchasing sexy stripper clothes for that next night out or bedroom play.

Top Tips: The Perfect Jewelry for the Perfect Wedding Dress

Top Tips: The Perfect Jewelry for the Perfect Wedding Dress

Do not ruin the perfect wedding dress with the all-too-wrong, all-too-inappropriate jewelry lest you find yourself less-than-the-radiant bride on your most important of days. You have to strike the right balance between the size and shape of the jewelry vis-?-vis the color and cut of your wedding gown for that all-too-desired vavavoom effect. Here is how.

Less is More

And, girl, is that the truth! You must never fall into the tacky trap of over-accessorizing precisely because you want to call attention to yourself, not to the bling-blings strung all over you like a rap star with a serious fetish for chunky, clunky gold chains and big rocks. Channel Grace Kelly, snub Snoop Dogg. You get the point.

For example, if you are wearing a tiara, skip the necklace. Or if you are wearing diamond earrings, skip the necklace, too. Or if you want to wear a statement necklace, skip the rest of the jewelry set. The important point is to wear jewelry that will both complement your wedding gown and draw attention to your radiant face. This brings you to the next point.

Look at the Cut and Design

No, not the cut of the gemstone. Your wedding jewelry must complement the cut of your wedding gown to provide you with the perfect fit. (And here you were worrying about fitting into your gown on the day itself! But this match is a must-do)

To help you choose the perfect jewelry, you can consider these suggestions:

For the strapless bridal gown, you can wear a statement necklace with bold design that can draw attention to your neckline. Again, you should skip piling on other jewelry otherwise you will be decked out like an out-of-season Christmas tree.

For the halter dress, you can don diamond stud earrings to highlight the gown’s cut. If you feel naked without hand jewelry, then you can add in a simple and stunning bracelet.

For the sweetheart neckline, you can opt for a lariat necklace for that sexy effect.

For the heavily beaded and heavily embroidered bridal gown, you must lay off on the elaborate jewelry. Your bridal gown will be the focal point of your aura already!

For the simple bridal gown, you can go bold and daring but steer clear of brash and tacky.

Again, the important thing is that your jewelry must complement instead of distract from your wedding gown.

Lay On the Tradition

Or you can create one of your own! Your jewelry can follow the age-old adage about “something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue and a lucky sixpence for your shoe” but definitely not all at the same time. Again, less is more when it comes to bridal jewelry.

For example, you can wear sapphire jewelry for the something blue part. Or the heirloom tiara for the something old and the small albeit contemporary diamond stud earrings for the something new part.

These suggestions can make your head spin but rest assured that when you see the “perfect jewelry”, you will know as surely as you know the design of your wedding gown. Trust your woman’s intuition on this but a mirror will come in handy, too!

You will also need wedding favors and bridesmaid dresses to go with your wedding dress for that perfect wedding day. Find them all at OnlineBridalShop.ca today!

Dance Clothes ? You Are What You Wear

Dance Clothes ? You Are What You Wear

When you hear people talk about dance clothes, ballet dancers usually come to mind. The variety of outfits designed for professional dancers is much more extensive than that, however. If we dig a little deeper into the subject, you’ll find that there are clothes made for many different types of dance, and each have their special place in a performer’s wardrobe.

If you try, you can probably think of many different items of clothing that could be categorized by the general term “dancewear.” Leotards, unitards, comfortwear, tights, tutus, dresses, cheerwear – these are all examples of clothes designed for specific types of performance.
There are also many styles of shoes to consider as well, since dance clothes and outfits would not be complete without a matching, comfortable pair of shoes. From line dancing to tap, ballet to aerobics, and flamenco to jazz, anyone who dances as a performer needs the right shoe to move safely and comfortably through their routines.

So, what do these performers wear, and what are some of the differences between the various styles of dance clothes? Well, that depends. Sometimes a stage performance dictates that certain characters or chorus members will wear costumes that match the theme of the show. There are standards though that we can use to give a general picture of a few outfits.
Male ballet dancers typically wear a white shirt with black tights and ballet shoes in the studio. If you’re doing the tango, you will see more slacks, long-sleeve shirts, and leather shoes with a slightly higher heel than jazz shoes. In fact, black is a popular color for men, no matter what the style. A male performer’s clothing is much more basic overall than dance clothes for women.

Ladies have infinite choices, depending on the style of dance. For ballet, its leotards, tutus, tights, and ballet slippers or pointe shoes. For a more casual style, they can also wear spandex dresses, Capri or gaucho pants, shorts, and an infinite variety of heeled and flat shoes or sneakers.
An increasing number of online and brick-and-mortar vendors are offering liturgical robes and long dresses or leotards, sometimes called praisewear, designed with religious themes in mind.
Danskin and Capezio are two of the more well-known brand names that provide clothing for all of these different types of performers. Their reputations as long-time vendors in the modern dance industry make them reliable sources for finding the right items required for specific performances.
Another style of dance that has a distinct wardrobe is ballroom dancing. Modern attire might feature a halter dress or pullover matched with a long, flowing drapery skirt that adds flair to a female dancer’s routine. For something more bold, women might wear gauntlet gloves and sexy strapless dresses that show off a woman’s tender shoulders. They might have a beautiful necklace to wear that makes the outfit complete.
Its sometimes fun to look back at the styles worn in the roaring Twenties, when modern girls stepped out of their corsets and into as Charleston or a Shimmy in flapper skirts styled after fashion maven Coco Chanel. By today’s standards, these outfits are tame, but the same spirit of freedom burns inside many of those who wear the dance clothes of today.

Old Hollywood Glamour Revival

Old Hollywood Glamour Revival

Style and fashion is always evolving and remodeling itself, but usually fashion does stop to recognize and pay a tribute to classic and vintage style. The days of Elizabeth Taylor, Marilyn Monroe, Sophia Lauren, and Audrey Hepburn were full of a classic elegance that is still unparalleled today. The women of old Hollywood stood out on the red carpet just as much as they did on screen. Old Hollywood glitz and glam is back as celebrities of all ages embrace the classic and timeless looks of old Hollywood. These actresses featured a lot of standard colors like black, white, and red from lipstick to dresses to jewelry.

Think about Marilyn Monroe’s signature look: white halter dress, Blonde hair, diamonds, and red lipstick. Could anything be more iconic? These women knew how to dress and they knew how to wear jewelry from bracelets to earrings. With all the over the top trends out there, it’s nice to see current actresses acknowledging and emulating old Hollywood style.Stars like singer Katy Perry are known for dressing up in old Hollywood style, but in Perry’s case with definite twists. Perry is known for her daring style, but also her ability to clean up on the red carpet. Old Hollywood style needn’t always be such a cut and dry formula—have fun with it! Luckily you don’t have to be famous or an even actress to dress in old Hollywood style.

Women of old Hollywood wore only the best: diamonds, rubies, emeralds, etc. This isn’t practical for most women today unless of course you are a budding star. Crystals or Cubic Zirconia jewelry are excellent alternatives for expensive jewels. Cubic Zirconia is not only reasonably priced, but it also looks pretty close to the real thing! Only a trained eye can really tell the difference between diamonds and cz jewelry. I’m sure even the goddesses of old Hollywood would approve of the cubic zirconia jewelry available today. The best way to channel old Hollywood glamour is to wear your jewelry with a refined and elegant flair. For formal occasions choose classic cuts in your gowns and sparkly jewels. Wear simple classic make-up and soft curls and you will be the bell of any ball!

Posted by Joanna, you can find more articles about bracelets, CZ jewelry or Cubic Zirconia jewelry on my blog fashion jewelry guide.

Stylish Star Couples In Our Eyes

Stylish Star Couples In Our Eyes

Vanessa Hudgens and Zac Ephron
“High School Musical” sweethearts Vanessa (in Catherine Malandrino) and Zac get high marks for stepping out in trendy, age-appropriate looks. “She’s always been original,” says Deborah Waknin, Hudgens’s stylist. “She’s got glam down pat!” Who does the actress turn to for inspiration? “Mary-Kate Olsen, Victoria Beckham and Nicole Richie. They have fun with fashion.”

Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi
Ellen and Portia have fun with their vastly different red-carpet styles. Portia loves feminine and fashion-forward dresses from Lanvin (at left) and Zac Posen, while Ellen is a pantsuit girl all the way, preferring designers like Dolce & Gabbana and Gucci.

Fergie and Josh Duhamel
When they’re not starring in action movies or rocking out on stages, Josh and Fergie make a sophisticated pair on the red carpet. The Black Eyed Peas singer plays up her assets with sexy dresses and killer heels while the “Transformer” actor keeps it simple with classic black and grey suits.

Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony
J. Lo (in Versace) and Marc can take their look from elegant to super-sexy with ease. The parents of twins were all glamour at last year’s inaugural events – Lopez in a blue Marchesa column dress and Anthony in pinstripes – but Lopez spiced things up at the Golden Globes later that week in a gold halter dress, also by Marchesa.

Claire Danes and Hugh Dancy
No matter the event, newlyweds consistently appear polished and impossibly chic on the red carpet. Danes loves structured dresses from Narciso Rodriguez as well as form-fitting frocks from Herve Leger (at left) while Dancy holds his own with sleek Calvin Klein suits.

Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale
Rockstar couple live up to their spirited on-stage personas with their street style. Surprising touches such as leopard print loafers set a punky tone within Rossdale’s overall cool, casual look. Stefani also aims for the unexpected, accessorizing her sheer top and shorts with a bright scarf and caged heels.

Claim to Fame: Big Names Tout their Hermes Bags

Claim to Fame: Big Names Tout their Hermes Bags

Obsessions take a lot of energy. And if your obsession is Hermes handbags, it will also take a lot of money. Owning one of these bags brings an undeniable sense of prestige and class. The Kelly Bag, the most famous Hermes handbag, is one of the most coveted bags in Hollywood. The Birkin comes in at a close second, enjoying a consistently high demand among celebrities. Together, these two Hermes purses generate considerable revenue and attention from Hollywood’s who’s who.

In airports, shopping malls, and everywhere else you can imagine, celebrities are spotted toting their Hermes bags. Below are some of the most notable sightings:

• Kelly Osborne: All dolled up in her signature dark apparel, with black-rimmed eyes, a black dress, and a black hat, Kelly was seen carrying a black crocodile Birkin.

• Katie Holmes and Suri: Like mother like daughter! Suri sported her own pint-size orange Hermes handbag, matching Mom’s perfectly. Katie was later seen wearing a classic black pencil skirt and red heels, accented by the rare burgundy Garden Party handbag. The handbag is the size of a common boarding bag, and with all the space it offers, Katie was ready for just about anything.

• Nicole Ritchie: Looking good enough to stop traffic in a pair of black leggings and boots, topped with a skinny tee and oversized hat, Nicole arrived for a defensive driving class. Her orange Birkin screamed for attention as the young star tried to stay under the radar.

• Britney Spears: Trying to stay incognito in her oversized sunglasses, the former worst-dressed pop princess made a statement with her classic Kelly Bag. Completing her look with a simple purple halter dress and her little doggie, Spears appeared calm, cool, and classic, even after a minor fender bender.

• Victoria Beckham: The former Spice Girl is known to have the largest personal Hermes collection, rumored to own close to fifty of the purses. Recently spotted in a basic black dress, carrying a rare Himalayan Croc Birkin adorned with diamonds, she confirmed her unofficial title of the “queen” of Hermes. Her favorite seems to be a white Birkin that she’s paired with everything from jeans and boots to white capris and a nautical-themed hoodie.

• Kelly Klein: Switching teams mid-stream, the former Mrs. Klein was recently seen working a powder blue Birkin with jeans, a black jacket and turtleneck, and a pair of black riding boots.

• Carolyn Bessette Kennedy: Proving that above all else she was a lady, Carolyn appeared on John Junior’ arm dressed in an elegant black dress. In her gloved hands, her Kelly bag served as a subtle yet elegant accessory.

• Jane Birkin: A chance encounter with Dumas-Hermes birthed the bag that would eventually be named after her, and would become one of the most popular Hermes handbags of the 21st century.

• Grace Kelly: The newly crowned Princess of Monaco was photographed in New York in 1956 carrying a Hermes purse discretely over her pregnant tummy. That Hermes bag would be renamed and forever known as the Kelly Bag, and now holds a spot among the top five bags rated by BagSnob.

The two Hermes handbags are quite different, though those differences are not always recognized.

• A Kelly bag requires 18 hours of work by a single craftsman for production.

• Hermes turns out 5 Birkins each week.

• The Kelly is closed at the top, and has one handle. It is considered a “formal” bag.

• The Birkin is open at the top, with two handles, and is considered a “casual” bag.

5 Styles to Wear with Your Rain Boots

5 Styles to Wear with Your Rain Boots

How many times did you want to go out in the wet spring and found out that your rainboots appeared quite inappropriate for your dress? Unlike other boots, Rainboots are bulky and shapeless. Rainboots or wellies, as they are otherwise called, are not so elegant looking as the normal fashion boots.

However, during wet weather nothing is comparable to the comfort and protection rainboots give our feet. They are the best boots to wear during miserable weather. Yet they do not go with anything you wear. Hence you need to choose your costumes and accessories carefully when worn with rainboots. A few tips are given here based on the best ways celebrities presented themselves in rainboots.

When buying rainboots make sure you buy a pair with enough space to tuck in your jeans.

Style 1

Celebrities prefer to wear rain boots with shorts. For a sleek and chick look wear the rainboots with a black skinny or legging. A black must-have bag and a pair of black sunglasses will give a classy look. A combination of boyfriend jeans and wellies will look awful. This is one of the combinations that one should not dare to try.

Style 2

The clunkiness of the rainboots can be overcome by wearing a billowy dress in a soft floral print. It gives a very feminine touch to the whole combination. A halter dress style, a prairie dress or a short mini dress will also go with the rainboots.

Style 3

What if you want to attend an outdoor party or concert in a wet weather? Obviously you are going to wear a rainboot to fight the muddy puddles. In that case try the hippie vibe. Try dressing colorfully rather than wearing the usual white shirt and jeans. The wash of the jeans should match the wellies. Stone washed denim will not suit patterned rainboots.

Style 4

For a change from the feminine look try a tailored look on another day. A tailored look will help tone down the bulky rainboots. Pair them with a tailored outfit, scarves and fitted casual pants.

Style 5

The wellies can be paired with a pair of long and colorful earrings. Printed scarves will make a great combo on a plain top, denim skirt and matching rainboot. A plain white shirt and black leggings will suit silver wellies. Bleached light shaded denim will suit black or dark rainboots.

Now put on your wellies and go out in the wet spring with a confident attitude and stunning look, defeating every wicked puddle on the way. Do not forget to test more alternative styles by mixing and matching your favorite clothes.

Velvet – The Fabric Of Fall

Velvet – The Fabric Of Fall

The history of velvet is somewhat fuzzy, but the first English
reference to it was in 1278, when a king’s tailor purchased the
fabric in Paris for the kings bed. More than 700 years later you
don’t have to be a king to afford to wear velvet.

You’re seeing it everywhere, in every shade. Carefully created
into dazzling jackets, dresses, handbags, boots, pumps and
flats. You will find velvet this fall in an array of rich, deep
colors like navy blue, emerald and red, meant to make a fashion
statement. You can’t be shy and wear velvet this year!

Alice & Olivia offer a velvet military jacket in navy with
leather piping. Nanette Lepore offers an embellished velvet
jacket in muted shades with a peacock feather print. Moschino is
showing a dress saluting the paisley craze. It’s a lovely cognac
velvet halter dress with a medallion print. One of the standout
velvet creations this season has to be the Cynthia Steffe
strapless velvet empire dress. It features a dark green bust
trimmed with golden ribbon. The dress falls into a three tiered
nutmeg colored velvet skirt which falls just below the knee. The
bottom tier of this dress is beautifully embellished with gold
and green floral embroidery. There are only two words to
describe this dress – rich and opulent.

Shoe designers have always loved velvet. Yves Saint Laurent is
offering a beautiful crossover velvet sandal in olive. Christian
Lacroix offers an unexpected twist on chic with his dark brown
velvet sandal which is made an absolute must have with the
addition of a teal and black wool flower on the heel. You have
to check this shoe out. Can somebody say perfect for any
upcoming holiday celebration? Shoe designer Salvatore Ferragamo
is offering a Victorian inspired velvet pump in a rich wine
color. He also shows a very strappy and sexy black velvet
platform sandal, perfect for evening affairs. You can pair these
sandals with a cropped jacket in teal velvet and black satin
pencil pants, perfect!

Don’t forget to check out the wide array of velvet bags. Hobo’s,
clutch bags and totes are shown in velvet. Giorgio Armani is
offering his signature tote in croc-embossed velvet. Gucci is
showing a green velvet shoulder flap bag accented with a
crocodile trim.

Splurge and buy yourself a spectacular velvet piece this fall -
you won’t regret it
